What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #152

Good morning!! It’s a overcast cool morning here.

Wow, I can’t believe it is already a week passed.  First of all I want to say thank you to all the people that spent some time at my desk and left me such lovely comments.  I was so excited each time I read a new comment.

This is my second week hoping around and snooping on desks all over the world.  I went on vacation with one person to an exotic island while looking at her family vacation photos. I saw mixed media artists, scrappers, cardmakers, gardens, cats, jewlery, the works. It was truly inspiring. I did not manage to make it to everyone’s desk so please forgive me. I will do better this week.

My desk

Last week, being my first week,  I was bit shy to show you what was behind curtain #1.  But after seeing all your desks I felt a little liberated this morning and thought I would let my hair down a bit. So as you can see my desk has a lot going on. I will break it down for you.

So, what am I working on?

Some digi images to use for my cards for my shop

Well I have some images that I prepared for coloring with my Copics.  I consider myself still a beginner when it comes to blending. But I suppose I can only improve with time.  I am trying to learn how to color bubbles for the little girl blowing the bubbles image.  I will share them once I figure it out. These will be used on some upcoming cards I am making for my new Etsy store, Belinda’s Crafts (yup a shameful plug)!

My Project Life album

Another project I am working on is my Project Life album.  A few years back when Becky Higgins started this whole thing, I was so excited and vowed to create an album. Bought the stuff, documented two weeks and then never touched it again.  So here I am years later giving it another go. It’s funny how we see ourselves and then how we really are. Because I am once again behind. Nope, your eyes are not playing tricks on you, I am working on Week 12. Pathetic.  I can say that I have all the pictures. Just haven’t sat my butt down to do the work.

New Spellbinders

I just bought my Spellbinder about a month ago and I have been having fun with all the pretty shapes.  So these are some new ones I am playing with.  Lot’s of fun.  My sons, Nicholas and Apollo love to crank the handle for me. Oh if you noticed, my cup of tea wasn’t in the first photo but it is here because I ran down and fixed it before completing this post. I love tea and this is one of my favorite mugs.  Very fitting for creating time.

My Italian Calender

Another thing you will learn about me is that I have a love for languages. Not that I speak anything but English but I am facinated by them. My husband is multilingual and a goal of mine for quite some time has been to learn Italian.  So I thought I would share my word of the day with you all.  It is bambola which means doll.  So if any of you speak Italian and want to share some knowledge I am here.

Well I better get going so that I can start spanning the globe looking at other desks. If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

  1. Can’t help with the Italian but I’m going to look for a calendar like that. What a great idea! I’d love to learn a language other than English, I like the look of Spanish, Norwegian and Finnish!!

  2. Not bad…week 12…sounds right to me (procrastination is my middle name)! I too, love to go round the world and see the messes created! Thanks for letting you hair down and sharing your busy space with us…happy WOYWW #130

  3. You are working like crazy! I love to see “messy” desks. It says the person who owns it is creative! And you make beautiful things!
Sorry, I know a little of a few languages, but not Italian. We took experimental languages in school, which was 1 semester of German, French, Spanish and Latin. We learned things like “hi how are you, where is the bathroom’, and the days of the week. OH, and what is the weather. So if I ever go anywhere where I can say these things, they will probably think I can speak more (except the latin of course. You can read that and translate that but not speak it).
I took 2 years of Spanish, don’t have a clue how to speak any more than I told you, then I took Lain for 2 years!
Like my paragraph answer? Sorry!! I really enjoyed my visit!!

  4. Glad to see you fessed up with all your stuff on and around your desk…those spellbinders look lovely and my son also likes to do the die cutting for me. Though I have progressed to a Vagabond which is easy with just the press of a button, no more handle winding for me!

Belinda I am beginning to think the button thing is a good idea. The cranking gets old fast for me hence why I love the boys still like to do it. ha ha..

  5. Lots of lovely stuff in the workspace and those digis look good – thanks for sharing – Hazel, WOYWW #10 x

  6. Hi!! So excited about your upcoming cards, I am also jealous of your project life album, I’ve been wanting to start one, maybe I will in June. We have to make some time for crafting when I come visit.

I am trying to keep cranking them out so as to encourage more sales. Never to late to start Project Life. There is no rule it has to start Jan 1st. If we have time while your here, maybe we can go crop at AE if not, at my desk. Can’t wait to see you and the family.

  7. You have so many wonderful things on your desk. I love the cards.
    Have a great week.

  8. Loving the more creative desk this week lol. Your images look great, just wondering where the girl with dog is from? By the way the colouring is great, don’t be so hard on yourself. I too love languages and although it is a long time since I studied any I like listening and seeing if I can pick out words.
Thank you for visiting me, hugs, Amanda #123

      Thanks Amanda!

I usually feel good about my coloring until I go online and see all the super talented Copic Artists and then I second guess my stuff. But I am working on that self sabotaging thing.

I bought the digi image from Whimsy Stamps online. (www.whimsystamps.com). It makes me think of my sister-in-law who is very stylish and has a little dog. So I had to have it.

Thanks for the encouraging words Amanda and I can’t wait ot catch up with you again next week.

  9. I like your desk, it looks very creative and I love those new spellbinder dies that you have. I have an electronic big shot which is similar to the vagabond and it is so easy to use. Your colouring in is lovely, I got inspiration from a great lady called Bev at – http://bevscrafts.blogspot.com – she is absolutely brilliant and has a couple of tutorials on her website.

  15. Love your description of youw WOYWW journey. Love your copic coloring, too! Artee #133

  16. Hi,

I just found your blog through somebody else’s. I also love art journaling and all kinds of paper crafts (and sewing, and riding bikes and baking.) The nuns call me “The Biker-Baker.” I’m a nun too. And I am learning Italian (I speak Spanish too) and want to become miltilingual since I am a translator. I am happy I found your blog! I don’t know if you’re a Christian but I receive “Vangelo del Giorno” in Italian everyday. You can sign up for it, it’s free and uncomplicated. Here’s the link:
