Copic Card: Keepin’ Cool

polarbear1

Hello Everyone! I am here today with a card I colored up with my Copics.  I haven’t made a card in about two months. So I am shaking off the cobwebs and slowly starting to get back to craftin’.  My Project Life is now officially way behind but I am coming up with a comeback plan for that too.  I just took the summer to enjoy some reading and relaxing and now I am trying to find a way to bring back my craft projects. During the summer months I tend to garden and read a lot so between that and my family, it leaves little time to really work on my craft projects.

Enough about that, I have been wanting to use this digi I got for free months ago at Just Inked. I finally got around to it and have been loving using the pretty sequins from Lawn Fawn. Surprisingly, the sequins stay put pretty well once dried. I think I used Scotch Quick-dry Adhesive and it dries clear. I think you will be seeing a lot more sequins on my cards.

One thing I would like to work on this year is creating my own backgrounds. I created the one for this card but really want to learn how to improve my techniques.

Well I am off to do a little craftin’.

Have a blessed day.

New card

Hello! Happy Monday!  I hope you had a lovely weekend.

I recently was going through all of my craft YouTube subscriptions and came across this card with a little African American boy on it and I had to find out where the creator got the stamp.   I watched Amy’s video and was pleasantly surprised to see that the stamp used was not really an African  American boy but it was how she colored him and his hair that led me to believe it.  I do this all the time because I find a shortage of culturally diverse stamps.

I  ordered the stamp (Roberto Rascals Henry’s Rainy Day by CC Designs) quickly grabbed up a paper pack that I had that was very similar in colors and used many of the Copic Colors she used to create my card. I just love this image. I found one more and look forward to coloring it up too.

Have a blessed day!

Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder…#10

I love this paper because it has some words written in color and it gave me a fun color palette.

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  Boy do I love Fridays and today despite scattered showers we are experiencing unseasonably warm weather (70degrees)!!  Even last night for Halloween we had really warm weather for the boys to Trick or Treat.  Tomorrow will be warm too but Sunday we will be faced once again with the reality of the season – cold weather. Brrr….

Welcome to my blog series, “Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder“. If you haven’t already, please read The Intervention so you can understand the inspiration for this craft adventure. I can not believe we have already reached my 10th post of this series.

Today I wanted to share a card I completed with the October kit. I love the aqua and golden colors I pulled from the card for my image when I colored her up with my Copics.

My second card completed from the October kit!

Well I am going to go continue plugging away because you know it’s already November 1st and my next kit will be at my doorstep.  Looks like this crafter needs to do some major catching up!

Have a blessed weekend!

Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder…#5

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my new blog series, “Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder“. If you haven’t already, please read The Intervention so you can understand the inspiration for this craft project.

My second card from the September kit

My second card from the September kit

Today I wanted to share my second card I made using the September kit. I used one of my stamps from Flourishes.  I love Flourishes stamps. They are so elegant and fun to color. I also used one of my cute border dies that shhh I have had for a year and hadn’t cracked the seal!! So I am now seeing the benefits of this challenge in other ares of my stash.  Great news for me.

I will be back on Monday with another project and hopefully a wrap up of my September kit so I can start planning and work on the October kit… No pressure right?

Have a fabulous weekend and keep crafting!!

Belinda
