12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts: Day 4 – Special Delivery

day4_Mrs_Santa1Good afternoon and welcome to day four of my 12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts! I apologize for the delay but for the last few days I have been having internet access problems so today’s post is late.

Today I bring you another card I created.  I used a digi from Tiddly Inks.  I love these stamps. She has a bunch and she is having a great sale on both clear and digi stamps so take a peek.  I used my Silhouette to create the shape of the box and used the print and cut feature so that my image was printed directly on the cardstock and then cut in the shape you see. Then I colored up the image with my copics.

day4_Mrs_Santa2Ok and let’s talk a minute about paper hoarders, yes, I am guilty of charge and I find that I especially like to hoard my Christmas papers like my friend Ashley. She and I vow each year that we have enough and won’t buy anymore and what? They seem to jump in our carts and home they come. Total sucker for pretty paper especially pretty Christmas paper. Enough of that rant. That said, this paper I used for this card is one of those highly hoarded by me.  It is called Nordic Pines by Bazzill Basics. Oh my goodness, all the paper in this pad are gorgeous. I mean it, every sheet is gorgeous. So I had a hard time cutting a sheet (baby steps).  I matted it on a cream cardstock and used Stampin Up paper for the card base. I decided to use some kraft envelopes in my stash since they match this paper so nicely.

day4_Mrs_Santa3My props were holiday table runners and a little tree I usually put on a shelf in the living room.

day4_Mrs_Santa4I put matching cream cardstock inside for the person to write their greetings since the card has a black base. I also used small pieces of coordinating paper attached to the corners of the paper for added interest.

I hope you like this card as much as I do. Even if I did have to cut a piece of my prized stash!!

Sending blessings your way!

12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts: Day 3 – Holiday Bookmarks

day3_bookmarks1

Good morning and welcome to day three of my 12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts! I have a craft to share today.  Every year, my bookclub has a holiday party in early December. We take the month off due to holidays.  But we always have a party at a local restaurant and have dinner and a fun book swap.  So I made some bookmarks for each of the members to remind us of a year of books we explored and say thanks for the fun.

So I cut out bookmarks on my Silhouette and then used a Flourishes stamp and stamped the greeting and topiary on each. Then I colored them up with Copics and added a Wink of Stella to the ornaments to give them a glowing look (can’t see in my photos unfortunately).  I then ran them through my laminator. Which by the way, is super inexpensive at Walmart.  It’s very easy to use and I am loving it.

day3_bookmarks5I added twine to them. Because lets face it, this girl has a load of twine!! I couldn’t decide which prop was better. The carpet shot, shows off the wine better but the wreath added nice texture to the picture.

day3_bookmarks3Here is a close up. I was trying to show you the glitter look on the ornaments but I think it’s not going to happen. You’ll have to trust me!

I hope you are having a blessed day.

12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts: Day 2 – Ornaments card

day2_ornaments1Good morning and welcome to day two of my 12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts!  What a difference one day can be from another. Yesterday the temperature got up to 64 degrees and today it’s barely 40 and cloudy.  Brrr… Makes me want to crawl under a blanket with some tea!

day2_ornaments2

Today’s card I used an old Hero Arts stamp set and stamped several on a sheet of Copic paper and then colored them up with my Copics and cut them out.  I attached them to the card with some brads and used pop dots to add dimension to one of the ornaments. I used Stampin Up paper as the card base and added some corrugated paper for more texture to the card. I left the inside blank.

day2_ornaments3Today’s prop is a wreath that I plan on using in my craft room. I threw some ornaments on it and layed out my card for another view.

I hope you are having a blessed day and I will see you tomorrow with another creation!!

12 Days of Holiday Cards and Crafts: Day 1 – Cardinal Card

day1_cardinalcard1

Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a nice holiday. I had a great time. We stayed with my in-laws for 3 days and it was a lot of great food and fun. This morning we had a slow start back to school and I had to drive Nicholas’ lunch to school which I somehow forgot to pack in his bag!

day1_cardinalcard2

So I thought it might be fun to have my very own 12 days of holiday cards and crafts for this blog.  So today is day one and I made his card using a Stampendous stamp that I have had for way too long without using it. I made a top-folding card and used Stampin Up Cardstock for the base and I cut a strip of glitter paper for more sparkle.  The flower is from the dollar bin at Michael’s.

I used a Flourishes stamp for the greeting inside.  I just love birds and Cardinals are one of my favorites. I just had to have this stamp when I saw it. I also love that the sheet music was part of the image too. Very cool. So I used a little Distress ink to age the paper a bit.

My props were super easy: Dollar store plate and some ornaments I use on my mini tree I put up in my craft room.

I hope you are all having a blessed day and keep on crafting!
