New Birch Box arrived!

I signed up this summer for a monthly club called Birch box that sends me a package monthly with beauty samples in it that are somewhat tailored to my interests.  I have to say I am enjoying receiving them.  I never was a big make-up girl growing up so I never know where to go, what to buy, what is good quality etc.  So this kit really helps me peek into the beauty stuff without too much fuss.

This one came with large sized samples of great beauty supplies. It has great body butter from Ayres that smells  really good.  I love blue nail polish this year so it was fun to receive thie ble color from Color Club.  What really surprised me wa the foundation which actually works for my complexion.  I haven’t tried the enzyme face wash yet but look forward to trying it.  And you know I love tea so the three bags of tea from Mighty Leaf was an added bonus.

Well I am off to do some more craftin’ but I hope you all are having a blessed day!

Haul: Holiday paper from Scrapbook.com

Ok, I admit I have an obsession with 6×6 paper packs. I even buy cute storage to store them throughout my craft room.  I started buying them a few years back when I started getting into card-making. The designs are the same as their 12×12 counterparts but often scaled down which makes them perfect for my cards.  Well another thing that I am seriously obsessed with is holiday 6×6 paper packs.  I have a bin on my desk that is filled only with winter and Christmas 6×6 paper packs.

So when I was snooping around scrapbook.com last week and came across some great sales on 6×6 paper packs of winter and Christmas  paper, I had to put them in my shopping cart. They arrived today and I feel all the little hairs dance on my arms with joy (yes, that is kind of gross sounding when I type it.).

I thought it only right to share my new goodies.

This is the new Nordic Pines paper pack by Bazzill Basics Paper.

I also bought the coordinating cadstock I love all the stuff I have been seeing with the Nordic patterns so I had to have some to give it a try.

Oh this one caught my eye because green is my favorite color and the shade of green in this pack makes me want to do another happy dance.  Again I bought the coordinating cardstock.

As I went to check out they showed me this paper pad from Glitz that was on sale for next to nothing  and all of it’s coordinates as well.  What I like about this line is that it has non-traditional colors but veryhappy.  I loved the sticker sheet which is the big 12×12 in the back. I also bought the die cuts that coordinate that are on top of the sticker sheet.

I get so happy when I spread them out on my craft table.  So I have officially completed my 6×6 winter and Christmas paper pack shopping for the year! I will be sure to share some of the projects I make with these beauties.

Well I better go make something!

Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder…#11

Happy Monday!! I’m back.  So sorry for the long pause but my son was very sick for several days which took all of my time and energy waking up in the middle of the night, disinfecting, washing clothes and sheets, you know the drill. Momma had to ramp up to meet the demands!  So something had to give and my crafting took the hit.

My first layout with the October kit from Cocoa Daisy.

But I am back and cranking out projects to wrap up the October kit.  I know the November kit is on it’s way so I am really hustling to catch up.  Anyway, welcome to my blog series, “Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder“. If you haven’t already, please read The Intervention so you can understand the inspiration for this craft adventure.

Creating this layout with some of the papers from the October kit began as a challenge but now I like how it turned out. The colors in this kit are very muted. I am coming off of summer colored projects so I had to embrace the less vibrant colors and these photos seemed to complement them well.

I took pictures of my son playing in the leaves a few weeks back and had to create a layout to capture his pure joy with nature.  I love that he sees all those leaves as something that must be investigated and played for some time in. I love them when they are on the trees but knowing that raking needs to be done when they fall, I am not as thrilled as he is about them.

I know geotags are big right now and have not used them before so it was fun using the yellow heart geotags in this layout.  I also snagged some old October Afternoon labels to include a little journaling.

With each scrapbook layout I do I feel the cobwebs falling away. As I said before it’s been over a year since I made any scrapbook pages so I am a little rusty.

Hope you all had a great weekend and I will see you on Wednesday with another project from this kit.

Happy crafting!

Home Decor: 30 Days of Gratitude

I displayed them on the wall behind my desk so that I can see it every day.

I displayed them on the wall behind my desk so that I can see it every day.

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday! I have been away pretty much the whole week.  My youngest caught the stomach bug so I have been doing a whole lot of laundry and cleaning up things.  It hasn’t left much time for crafting and now I am truly behind on my Confessions work.  But then this time of year always lends itself to sick days, extra errands and more doctors appointments right?

So I am not going to complain instead I am going to share my latest crafty home decor that I bought off of Jessica Sprague’s website. It is called, ’30 Days of Gratitude’. I printed up and cut out the files then assembled these cute little envelopes. The instructions came with different ideas for displaying these envelopes and I knew on the wall behind my desk would be the perfect place.

It fits so nicely on this wall I love looking at it.  Apollo has taken a liking to it too and each day he pulls out a card to read the encouraging words.

Before bed, I ask each of my boys and my husband to list 3 things they are grateful for and they have to be different from days prior. Then I write them on a piece of paper.  I think I might have to make a little mini scrapbook of our days of gratitude.  Perhaps I can make it an on-going album so I can get the boys to truly establish a more grateful life.

Each card has a unique quote on them.

I hope you too can find more moments to pause and reflect on the many blessings big and small in your lives.

Have a blessed day!

Belinda
