What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #230

I love coloring.

I love coloring.

Hello Everyone!  Happy WOYWWW!  I missed you all last week. Just needed a break to tend to home.  But I have been doing some crafting. My challenge to myself via my blog series has proven to be the jump start  my craftin’ mojo needed and I have been crafting daily.  So I am really happy with my progress.

On my desk you can see the birthday card I made for my sister, and a  fun one that I made for my shop with a vintage stove on it. The other two, I am still working on for cards.

I bought a new printer combo a few weeks ago in place of my old Epson which printed beautifully but the toner cartridges were too expensive and cutting into my fun money so I got a combo that can print, scan and copy. Although it isn’t as amazing as my Epson, it is pretty good and the toner is a third the cost. So more fun money and if I need amazing printing I will send them out.  I am so thrilled to have a scanner because I have just begun my genealogy research and I can scan right here.

Well, I am off to come visit your desks!

If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Have a blessed day!

Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder…#9

Hello Everyone! Welcome to my blog series, “Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder“. If you haven’t already, please read The Intervention so you can understand the inspiration for this craft adventure.

My first card I created with the October kit.

My first card I created with the October kit.

I hope you had a great weekend! It’s getting colder here and I am starting to want to curl up with a nice blanket, cup of tea and a book even more. I am an avid tea drinker and this time of year, I tend to drink even more.

I have this great Mo Manning digi of a vintage stove that I have been wanting to color up. So I took some of the paper from the October kit and made a card.  I used my Silhouette to create the title and doily banner.  I thought the banner looked like a kitchen curtain.

Behind the card you can see my Silhouette Portrait. I bought it a few months back and I love it. I have only scratched the surface of all the functionality this wonderful machine can do. Having a blast learning.

I will be back later this week with more projects from my October kit.  I am looking forward to the challenge of using these papers this time around.

Have a blessed day!

Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder…#7 (September Kit Wrap-up)

Hello Everyone!

Project life layout and cards made with the September kit.

Project life layout and cards made with the September kit.

Welcome to my blog series, “Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder“. If you haven’t already, please read The Intervention so you can understand the inspiration for this craft project.

Ok so my lesson I am learning is that I need to have better planning when it comes to challenging myself. My challenge for this blog series is to use my monthly kits creating various paper projects instead of hoarding it before the next kit arrives.  I realize now that I didn’t start this right when I received my September kit so I lost some time.  Which now will create that same lack of time for my October kit.  But I have decided that I am producing fun projects and normally I just look at the pretty supplies and store them in my containers. So I am making it happen.

I used a large portion of the supplies from the kit. I did not use everything but will keep them available for use with my October kit. One thing I don’t think I will use is the letter stickers from Studio Calico.  At least right now I can’t see them in any of my current projects.

I did enjoying using the kit mostly for card making but I am glad April helped me push myself to make a traditional scrapbook LO.

My first layout in a long time.

I know I could get one to two more layouts with the remaining kit paper. So I will add it to my October kit. See I made my own add-on without any added expense.

I definitely see me using up that gold paper really fast.  And the sticker element sheet I can use on-going in my Project Life. The colors do coordinate with the Octobe kit so I will definitely pull them in.

Tomorrow I will reveal the October kit and start cranking away since we are nearing the end of October and before you know it my November kit will make an appearance on my doorstep.

Have a blessed day and thank you for checking up on me.

Belinda
