Hmm..the boys are now back at school.  It’s a wonderful feeling being able to cross things off your list, prepare for the next day (lunches, clothes), make beds, do a load of laundry, actually get work done at my desk and then still have time for an hour of reading before the boys come home.  I do love how productive I can be while they are in school.  It lifts that daily burden and let’s me fly.

Today I am having another one of those days and I am going to cherish it.

Craft Haul on Etsy: Sequins from Calypso Cards

Hello Everyone! I have been back in bits and pieces. The boys officially started school today so that means I am back to work. I had decided to take the summer off and try to play a bit with the boys.  So my Etsy store is pretty low on crafty goodies.

As you may or may not know I am very into sequins lately. No, not on bell-bottom pants or my clothes but on my craft projects. So I have been on the hunt for more sequins and I came across a fellow Esty shop called, “Calypso Cards” and found some this shop had some great colors. I ordered these three different packs. The purple hues pack is called ‘Viola’ and oh my goodness, I can’t wait to use it. I love them and there is lot in the package. The orange, red, green yellow pack is called ‘Citrus’ and I think they will work for a lot of fall projects.  The pink, baby blue, lime green etc. package is called ‘Baby’ and I think it could be use for many other purposes too.

One of the things I love about shopping on Etsy is the connection. She sent me a handwritten note and a free gift with my purchase.  So if you have a chance, do check out the shop. I hope she continues to restock these beauties because I am sure to go back for more.

Happy 7th Birthday Apollo!!

Happy birthday to my sweet boy Apollo! Today you begin a new adventure as a seven year old. I hope our day is filled with lots of smiles and laughter. I say our day because I remember the day.  I remember going to the hospital and all the kind and confident doctors that helped me bring you into this world.

You were so little and trying to look at everything. I wonder what was on your mind.

Nicholas came in to meet you and then took a nap with you in the bed. It was so cute to watch.

Your dad was still glowing on your first day at our home.

I couldn’t put you down. Despite being tired, I just wanted to snuggle.

After settling in a few days, I just felt blessed to now have two boys.

Every mom thinks their baby is cute and you were no exception. I loved and still love taking pictures of you.

Thank you for being my good little boy and I wish for you another year of growth, good health and lots of love. I am so very proud of you.

Shrinky dinks with My Boys

Hello Everyone! Happy Monday! I had to run some errands today so I was unable to post the happenings this morning.

When I was little I remember loving when my mom and I would use shrinky dinks. We made such cool things. One of my favorite things to make was keychains.  So for a few years now I have been thinking about doing it with the boys. I have bought the sheets that you can stamp on etc. but hadn’t used them.  So I loved the idea of a kit with a theme. And I don’t know about you but monsters were  definitely appealing to my boys. So I picked up the kit from Michael’s.

It was fun watching them each take turns looking into the toaster oven to see their creations curl up and shrink then lay down flat.  It was a short activity and I am finding that this works best for them. I lose them if I try to get too involved.  Which is quite easy for me to do since I enjoy creating.

shrinkydinks4Another cute thing about this kit is that it came with a little background and stands for the monsters. This would be a great craft around Halloween.

Well I am off to go do some reading. I have book club tomorrow and I still have 150 pages left of reading. Thank goodness it is a good book!
