Silhouette Sunday – #2

Hello Everyone! Well it is week two of Silhouette Sunday and I am still continuing to explore my Silhouette. I learned how to perform a print and cut.  This has proven to be a major blessing for me because I hand color and cut my cards. So if I can cut down on production time in any way it is great news.  Next week I will share with you how to print and cut digital images and I will include a cheat sheet you can print and cut that you can use to remember the steps.

Yesterday I was printing and cutting one of my new digi images and I came across a problem and instead of searching for a solution on the web I played around and found a solution. I will, however explore this feature further online and in the manual and provide more in-depth information in the future.

What happened was that I got to the point where I was in the Trace Window and I had created the Outer Edge of the image (you see it in red to the left of the image).   Well I noticed the outlines for her bows on her head were not quite right. They were a little short.

So I clicked on Edit Points in the task bar on the left.  You then can see all the points on the outline.

The bow on her hair was cut off.

Then I moved the image back  onto the outline and I could better see where the red lines cut off the bows. I began clicking on the points and moving them out.

I noticed that the moved out and were forming a straight path. So I right clicked while on a point and an additional menu for editing points appeared. I saw the option to make rounded points. And for this instance the bow was rounded at the tip so I clicked on rounded and was pleasantly surprised to see that when I moved the point out further it outlined the bow without cutting it off.

I learned that you can edit the points on the outlines and how to accommodate curved paths.  This will come in handy in the future.  Well I hope I haven’t confused you and if nothing else inspired you to explore this amazing tool more because there is always more to learn.

Thanks for travelling through this journey with me.

Fun Photos Friday – #12

Happy Friday!  Wow did this week fly by. I have been running around having fun with my girlfriend who is visiting from California this week and trying to keep up with my posts at the same time.  Even squeezing in a tiny bit of crafting and I mean tiny!

Well on with this week’s photo…

Well I could possibly be the last person to get hooked on the Avatar The Last Airbender Cartoon series. When it was first airing on the television a few years ago, I missed the beginning and realized that it is important to start from the beginning to appreciate the cartoon. My sister-in-law and two of my brother-in-laws kept telling me how it is really great.

When the series ended my husband bought the DVDs.  So this summer, almost nightly we all sit around the TV and watch 2 sometimes 3 episodes back to back.  The boys love it and can I tell you I am really enjoying it. It  is great for kids and adults and has some really great messages underlying the story lines.

This week’s picture is of the boys taking some warrior stances from Avatar while we were hanging out at Crane Beach.

Have a great weekend!

LSS Haul: New Mo Manning Stamps

Mo Manning stamps by Penny Black

Mo Manning stamps by Penny Black

I have been a big fan of Mo Manning Stamps for years now. I own a pretty big digital library. I love the flexability of digital stamps. But lately my LSS has been carrying Mo Manning clear stamps. And I am a sucked in and buy them too. These are my two recent purchases. I have seen some amazing cards created with these images and am inspired to make my own.

I will be sure to post some images as soon as I make some.

Have a blessed day!

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #218

I am actually scrapbooking again.

I am actually scrapbooking again.

Hello Everyone!  Wow I think I was away for three weeks this time.  It is very challenging to keep up with our summer outings and write posts. I also knew I would not have time to respond to others so I chose not to participate. But I am missing my creative peeps! So here I am.

I am re-entering the scrapbooking world. I have been on a bit of a break working on my cards, which I have also been having a break from so what am I doing?  Anyway,  I decided to make a scrapbook of my recent anniversary vacation with my husband.

Some of my tools and goodies for the album.

I recently bought a new Sterilite storage that has a cool compartment that snaps on top. In here I put all of the stuff I am thinking of using in this mini album. The beautiful borders are cut by my Silhouette and I have pretty floss I intend on using and some date stamps.

I collected things while were on our trip to possibly include in a scrapbook album.  I  also have some cool wooden pieces and buttons I have been itching to use on something.

My cover and some photos.

My cover and some photos.

I found this album on sale at Michael’s and thought the color was perfect for a beach album. So I cut out the title on my Silhouette and embossed the word Chatham. I used Thickers for the year.

If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Have a blessed day!
