What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday – #156 – Happy Anniversary

I am a fairly new WOYWW participant and really enjoy it and very excited about our ATC swap. I have only made a few in the past but look forward to the challenge.

I haven’t been working on much of anything. Our washer broke this week and I have been one crabby momma! Today they arrive with the new washer and I can’t express what 7 days of no laundry being washed in this house means.  Pure chaos that’s what it is.

Fun Finds

So I took a picture of some new purchases since nothing has occured at my desk in a bit.  I recently went to Michael’s and bought the cuteies embellishments by Jolee’s Boutique called  French General that are inspired from old world France.  They are so pretty I know I am going to have a hard time parting with them.  I also bought some more PB&J paper brom Basic Grey and two little stamps to use on small projects (oh, maybe I will use them on some ATCs)  You can also see a tag I created with the Goosebumps Shimmer Texture Spray by Tsukineko.  I am still learning how to use it.  I used it as a resist on the tag.  Very cool stuff.  Of course my desk isn’t complete without my Soy Chai from Starbucks. It’s just heaven in a cup!

Well sorry for the short post. Think I said this last week.

Well I better get going so that I can start spanning the globe looking at other desks. If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Have a blessed day!

Fun Photos Friday – #4

Meditating Nicholas

Nicholas first meditation

I used to meditate fairly regularly and the last few years my practice has become very sporadic and often non-existent.  I finally have resumed a regular practice of a morning meditation and an afternoon session.  The boys are sleeping during my morning meditation but up and about during the afternoon session (which I even have an alarm set on my iPhone to remind me to sit for my afternoon practice).  It has become a very natural part of my day again and I feel happy about that.

I have an area in my bedroom where I meditate and on this day I left my door unlocked and began my session.  Well Nicholas came in and went to the bathroom. I could feel him staring at me.  Then when he finished in the bathroom he came out and sat down about 5 feet from me. I couldn’t tell what he was doing so I stayed with my breath until I finished my time and when I turned to see what he was doing, this is what he was doing.

I have been trying to find ways as they are getting older to introduce them to meditation. I am exploring walking meditation as a way for them at this age. But I am thrilled he showed an interest even if fleeting.

What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday – #155

Good morning friends,

The sun is actually peeking out this morning so I am extra happy.  Today I have to make a shorter post (many may cheer since I go on a bit too long often) because I am running late on my morning routine with the boys. So between drop offs I am creating this post.

First thank you to all that left the kind words last week. I apologize if I didn’t get to everyone but I am aiming to this week. It makes my day everytime I see your kind words. Thank you.

Stamping stuff

Stamping stuff

So I am playing around with some new garden-themed stamps today. I love gardening so getting my hands on these stamps was extra special.  Practicing Copic techniques (one day I shall master them!).  Some new paper is also in the picture (Basic Grey’s PB&J). I just love the name and the colors are right up my alley.

I am also working on creating watermarks for my posting photos. Today’s is the first one. I will keep tweeking.

Later today I plan on drafting up designs for Father’s Day cards.

I am so sorry this is short and not so tantalizing. I promise to have something fun next week. I look forward to the ATC swap.

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #154

Auguri a tutte le mamme!  (Happy Mother’s Day to all moms!) I had a wonderful Mother’s day weekend this past week. The weather actually cooperated and we were able to spend much of the weekend outside.  Leao must have talked with the boys because they took me to breakfast for Mom’s day and they were so good the whole time I kept wondering where my kids were.  I hope you all had a great week and weekend.
I can not believe it is Wednesday again. Time flies way too fast.   Let’s guess what my weather is like yet again?  Yup, rain, rain, gloom….Grrrr….
I want to say thanks to everyone who posted last week. I had so much fun last week peeking at as many desks as I could.  I was so inspired by Michelle Webbs art journals that I am thinking about creating my own. I look forward to playing some more today and filling myself with more inspiration.

Well last week, I told you my Sister came to visit last week to help me with the boys while Leao was away. I had such a nice time while she was here.  The kids had a blast and I had the help and the laughter I desperately needed.  (Carol Norbey from Arizona – I am glad to report, I did not need to use the peepad but laughed so hard when I read your post.). My sister left on Friday and I stood at the door like a little baby and sadly watched her drive off. She is such an amazing woman.

By the way the ‘m’ on my laptop is refusing to cooperate (possibly due to cookie crumbs) so if I misspell a word and it doesn’t make any sense then just add an ‘m’ to it!

Well today I am working on more cards. This one I took pictures in process for added interest.

Thank you card

All the elements of the card.

I need more thank you cards for my shop so I thought there is no time like the present.  I snatched up my new Zinnia stamps, copics, twine and went to town.  I love Zinnias in my garden so I knew I had to have this stamp. It’s fun to color too.

thank you card

Added some dimension

I have always loved twine on other people’s cards and I just bought a whole bunch to play with.  I love the colors and texture it adds to the cards. I can’t wait to try it again. I am probably the last crafter to use it but I am definately liking it.

Thank you card

Adding more dimension with the doily

I sprayed the doily and loved the color and look of it so much that I had to find a way to add it to the card.

Thank you card

The completed card

Well I am loving playing with the spray and twine so I think I will play some more.

Well I better get going so that I can start spanning the globe looking at other desks.
