What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #183

Hello Everyone!

Wow we are moving along rather fast and yet another Wednesday has arrived.

Well on my desk you will see lot’s going on.  By the way, in case you didn’t know, if you click on the images on my site, you get an even bigger version (which is perfect for snooping!) I bought another cool container at Target (the grey tweed case) and love it. I bought a matching one that is much larger to hold my magazines next to my comfy chair in my craft room.

Inside the case I have some Copic Markers that need filling (yes the same one’s I mentioned over a month ago that needed filling). The pathetic part is the refill is right there next to them so what’s the hold up?  I also have all my new Valentines (yes you heard correctly) stamps and goodies in there.

Lots of goodies on my desk.

I am slowly getting used to the retail schedule and this first year of Etsy I am mostly playing catch up which doesn’t exactly boost sales. So about a week ago I started scouring the internet to find some Valentines products. Of course I had to buy the cute little MFT stamp you see there of the girl holding chocolates. So very cute. I also just received yesterday, the Martha Stewart washi tape. It’s so pretty. One has hearts, and I am not sure which is my favorite the one with the envelop and heart with the word love or the pretty vines with flowers and hearts.  Plan on using it rather than hording which is what I usually tend to do with my washi tape.

Gearing up for Valentines Cards

You can also see a C.C. Designs stamp for valentines day. I have been branching out in the stamp companies and this is one of the first C.C. Designs so I am super excited to try it out.  I also snagged the little heart punch at Michaels a few days ago.  And finally I pulled out my last year valentines’ 6×6 pads. I also bought one that I thought I could use for more masculine cards. It was on clearance — a word that is music to my ears.

On the left you can see I stamped up a bunch of another Christmas image and stamped up some pattern paper for some paper piercing out of the Crate paper ‘Peppermint’ paper pack. Can’t wait to see how she turns out.

Card I just made for a dear friend of mine.

I just made this quick card for one of my friends and thought  I would share it. It’s can funny how things come together when you don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I somehow whip them up quick but like I said before, I can take way too long on my cards for my shop.  Oh and I am proud to say that yes that is some washi tape  I used on the right side of the card.  I am such a hoarder but I am glad I parted with some for this card.

Still plowing through my Project Life. I printed a bunch of photos yesterday and plan to print  another batch today.  At this rate, I actually might actually complete it by the end of the month. A feat I am not taking lightly.

Put  up Christmas decor in the house this past weekend and my sweet husband put up lights on the house.  Tonight we go buy a tree  and I have been playing my Christmas music since the day after Thanksgiving.  So we are full throttle in our home.  On December 1st we even had a little snow, which has since melted but fun to look at while it came down.

If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Have a blessed day!

Thankful…

What a blessing to spend the holiday with family and enjoying all this great food.

Well I was hoping to write this post earlier but I realized that I am always thankful so there is no time like the present.

So often I get caught up rushing and planning and doing and thinking and I let one little thing ruin my day and go to bed with regrets.  When I need to slow down, catch my breath and reflect on the enormity of my blessings.  I have so many but I will share a few that are on top right now.

I am thankful for…

  • My mother who shaped me into the woman I am today. I love her and miss her very much.
  • My husband who really is my best friend and supports me in all that I aspire to achieve.
  • My boys who I am my number one source of pride. Their hugs and kisses and silly laughs are forever implanted in my brain.
  • My sister who I confide in regularly and who I quite often causes me to nearly pee my pants when she makes me laugh.
  • My extended family who inspire me on a regular basis with their achievements and aspirations.
  • My current fitness routine which is keeping me healthy and a lot happier.
  • My company, Belinda’s Crafts. Although it is at it’s at infant stages, it brings me great joy to be blessed with the opportunity to pursue a passion of mine.
  • My girlfriends for making me so very happy and put up with me dropping out of communication for periods of time when life gets too crazy.
  • My spiritual practice that is bringing more love and compassion into my life.
  • My craft room (yes a room) that is my daily source of inspiration. Especially when it is filled with the sunlight. I love working in it each day and being among all my crafty things.

So make sure you don’t just be thankful for Thanksgiving. Let’s all aspire to being thankful each day.

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #176

Hello Everyone,

First and foremost, I felt so much love from all the wonderful posts last week from: Maria, Joynana, Elaine, Lisa, Vickie, Julia, Bernice, Vonny K, Maggie, Deb, Dantiella, Mary Anne, Sandi, Kay, Anna, Tamika, Scrappymo and Kay (505Whimsygirl).

I was so nervous about entering my first contest and when I received all the wonderful warm comments, I felt like I already won.   Thanks for taking the time to look and write such thoughtful comments.

Craft haul from my weekend crop

I had so much fun at my weekend crop with my girlfriends. We spent from 9 in the morning until 9 at night laughing, snacking and working on fun craft stuff. It was at a store so of course I had to look and boy was that a mistake.  They carried three of my favorite brands there one,  which is MFT Die-Namics.  I just can’t get enough of their dies. They are so pretty.  So I bought a crown border, snowflakes, oval stax, jumbo fishtail banner stax, designer label stax and the cutiest icicle border dies.  Then I bought two new MFT stamps one of a little girl with snowballs and the other hugging a snow man.  I justified the insane total expense by saying they were tools that can be used over and over.  (Come on, that’s a good reason right?)

Cute storage I bought at Target.

Another thing I did while walking around the craft store was to get storage idea inspirations and one thing they did that I loved was have wire baskets all over the store with tons of cards in them for you to peruse.  Well I ran out and bought two wire baskets in the dollar section in Target and stuck some of my fall cards in them. In the back are pencils I bought in preparation for my boys’  Halloween exchanges in school. I am going to make something crafty to store the pencils for each child. I will post pictures when I create them.

A wider shot of my desk.

You can see some of my Christmas notecards I have finished and ready to go into my shop and some other images I finished coloring that are ready for use on some cards.  Oh and I made that little box when I was at the crop.  (see I did something) Mr. Huey’s color mist schoolhouse sitting there waiting for me to use it.

Well I am ready for some snooping and that’s just what I’m gonna do!

If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Have a blessed day!

Fun Photos Friday – #9

Mommy moment

This photo  is great because I was picking the boys up today and I had my hands full with my ice tea, purse and cell phone. So I handed my phone to Nicholas so I could tie Apollo’s shoe, only to find out later when I went to look through my pictures that Nicholas took a picture of me helping Apollo. It’s one of those candids that make me smile. A mommy moment captured on film.   So thanks Nicholas for taking this photo. It will head into a scrapbook for sure.
