What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #236

Hello my oh so talented crafty friends!  Wow weeks fly by but this time of year it feels even faster.  I feel like scrooge because normally my decorations go up right after Thanksgiving and I mail off all my holiday cards on December 1st. It is not for the lack of cards. We took our family photo before Thanksgiving and printed up photo cards (Last year I started using photo cards and made cards for a select group of people to reduce the stress.)  I just seem to be busy or flat out procrastinating.  Not sure why.

Anyway, enough of the ‘Mysteries of Belinda’ and let me talk desk talk. Since that is our Wednesday ritual.

A new cut file from my Slhouette.

A new cut file from my Slhouette.

Last week, Silhouette had and amazing sale – all cut files were 1/2 off and all materials were %50 off. So I loaded up on both because that doesn’t happen very often.  I bought a lot of home decor type files. This one is a little 3D Ledge village. I love it because it can fit on windowsills or shelves really easy.  I created a little winter village with them.

More of my desk.

More of my desk.

I cut up three and added a little detail and put them on one of the shelves I have to display art in my craft room. You can see the final project here.

On the left of my desk you can see some bookmarks that I cut out on my Silhouette for my son for an upcoming Marketplace Swap.  He filled out cute facts on each about the characters which are from a game he plays called Club Penguin. I realize that the house was assembled incorrectly (the door is opening the wrong way.)while typing this so I had to cut up another for the final winter scene.

I am going to get those cards out by this weeks end. That is my goal. Maybe by telling you all, it will keep me honest and move me out of this procrastinating funk!

If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

I hope you all have a blessed day.

Belinda

  1. Thanks for the peek and bright blessings to you and yours. Roberta #6

  2. I can see why you love these houses. I had no idea they were so 3-dimensional till I went to your other post. I agree the bench is much better than another tree. Have a great WOYWW from #1.

  3. Love the 3D village, very clever. It will look fantastic. Thanks for sharing, have a great week. Happy crafting and WOYWW. DeDe #5

  4. Wow..I really love those houses. They look wonderful. #12

  5. Just saw your comment about the cards. I found the link on a friend’s blog and checked it out to be sure it was a reputable foundation. When I saw it was sponsored by the Red Cross, I didn’t hesitate. The problem is, the drive is now closed as of last Friday. If I ever hear of any others, I’ll let you know.

  6. There is so much to like about this. First off, the display shelf. You know a dedicated space to put things instead of moving them about all the time. Going on the list for next year for sure. The simplicity of the village is striking. I think the wreaths are just the right touch. And I love the pine tree….
A couple of years I sent out New Year’s Cards….it was much less stressful.
Hope your week ahead is grand….

  11. Belinda, I just adore that little village! It’s so creative! As you know, I love miniatures (like my dollhouse, and the gingerbread house I’m making) so I can’t wait to see more of your village–please keep posting. To answer your question, the trees and stars on my desk are part of a tag I am making for Tag Tuesday for next week–so that’s a sneak peek. Hugs! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #10

  12. Your little village is going to be beautiful! I don’t have an electronic cutter but they look so useful! I’m a bit behind this year too, usually the decorating is finished by the first weekend in December at the latest, this year I’m still only half done! Too much reading and cocoa drinking perhaps, lol!

  13. Oh I do hope you share a picture of the finished village. I’ve been working on my Christmas cards and will have them out by Friday. We are going on vacation so it is a must! Nothing like a drop dead date to get you motivated. 🙂 April #84

  14. I love LOVE what you’re doing here with the cutouts. I sure wish I had the patience to do something that wonderfully creative! 🙂

  15. I have my cards made too! But, not mailed yet!! I’m working on it!! Time is so short this year! Thank you for your sweet comment!
