Hello Everyone!
Welcome to my new blog series, “Confessions of a Scrapbook Kit Hoarder“. If you haven’t already, please read The Intervention so you can understand the inspiration for this craft project.
This challenge is proven to be so much fun. I don’t know why I didn’t do this a long time ago. Then I might not have such a large collection of kits and goodies invading my craft room.
Well my friend April is keeping me on my toes by requesting that I use my supplies now to make a layout. As I told you all before, I haven’t created a traditional scrapbook layout in a few years so I admit I was quite intimidated when I started to work on it.
I am an avid football fan and set up my little portable table infront of the television yesterday and brought all my supplies and photos. I grabbed the latest, “Scrapbook & Cards today” magazine to get a feel for the current trends. I had my old problem of too many photos and I had to narrow it down. I cut out the conversation box from one of the 3×4 cards in the kit and used letter stickers to create the title.
I incorporated the Goosebumps from the kit in the title. I realized journaling would be a problem since I didn’t narrow the photo selections down far enough so I grabbed an old library card pocket and tucked it behind the photos before I adhered them and used another 3×4 card from the kit to write my journaling.
Oh one cool thing I want to share is that the circular accent above the title that says Russell Orchards is actually cut from a picture I took of Apollo standing on a truck at the Orchard. That was the logo on the side. So I cut it out and then put a piece of it on the top an the bottom of it is below the bottom right photo. So I used a photo and made an accent.

I wish I was rusty – your layout turned out beautifully. I need to go start working on mine. 🙂

Thank you. It was awkard getting back into the LO thing but I am glad I pushed through it.
I think I will hold you to that April. I hope to see your layout soon!
