What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #534

on my desk…

Hello my friends! First off, I want to apologize for not making it around to everyone last week. I was preparing my final project for a genealogy class I was taking and never made it around. Thank you all for stopping by and leaving a comment. But I will correct that naughty behavior today! I am off to my annual boob squeeze oops I meant to say mammogram so I will visit you all after my appointment.

On the brighter side, today is my youngest’s 12th birthday. Do I see chocolate birthday cake in my future? Yup! Can’t wait for him to come home from school so we can celebrate.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday), head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world where we get to snoop on other crafter’s desks.

Moroccan Mosaic

Today I don’t have much to share. I am just cracking the seal on a few of the new products I shamelessly received over a month ago and haven’t had a proper play session. These are two new dies from the company Altenew.

This first one is called Moroccan Mosaic Cover Die and boy does it live up to my expectations. I used inexpensive cardstock to test it out and it is surprisingly very sturdy.

I played around with leaving some of the segments in for a different look.

I also think I can use some of the cut pieces the die left behind!

extra pieces

The second die is called Cross Stitch Canvas Die. I should have cut it out in off white bu I thought the brown would show up better on camera. I think fall when I look at this one and want to try to create something warm and fuzzy with it. Still flushing out some ideas.

Cross Stitch Canvas

On my desk you see two new adhesives I purchased. One is Pixie Spray so that I can use it with my delicate stencils to hold them in place when I ink or paint them.

The other adhesive is spray adhesive. Why spray adhesive you ask? Because that is the only way I will get something like the Moroccan Mosaic Cover to stick to a card front. I can’t wait to try it.

Well I am off. You know I am convinced a man designed the damn squeeze machine for mammograms and if that doesn’t give it away, what about the no deodorant or perfume the day of the test? I’m just sayin’… 🙂

Happy crafting my friends, I will pop by later this afternoon.

Belinda

  1. Wow, I love that tile stencil, that really floats my boat – especially as you can use the pop out bits too!! I bet you’ll use that one loads. Hope the mammogram went ok, it’s a chore but better to do it, eh?

  2. Hi Belinda, hope the mammogram goes well. Pretty sure when they develop one for men to screen for testicular cancer, it won’t work the same! Love the die, I have one or two very similar, and I back mine with ‘ Stick It’ double sided adhesive sheet before I cut. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 X

  3. Hi Belinda. What lovely dies – they are going to be well used as they are such excellent backgrounds. Have fun!! Enjoy the chocolate cake celebration with your son. Hope the mammogram went well. I only have one more now because of my age – but I agree – painful!
    Take care. God bless.

  4. Hi Belinda. Hope all goes well with the Boob test. Can be painful too, even if it only lasts a minute or two. Love the idea of spray adhesive, can you share where to buy it. Love the look of the mosaic card too. Happy Birthday to your son as well. Have a Great Week. Hugs Rita xxxx

  6. those dies are fab! after the last week or so I am really going to try not to splurge more….. have a great week Helen #1

  7. I know! No deodorant! It takes an act of will to dress without it! Hope it all went as smoothly and painlessly as it could! I love the Mosaic die…am going somewhere in a minute to see if I can find one. I get it about the spray glue, but oh I so admire you for it..it seems to be a product that makes me run away with myself! All things become sticky!

  8. Hi Belinda, you have my sympathy. Mammograms are soooo painful and, yes, it has to have been a man, a misogynist no less, who developed this implement of torture. Though, I don’t recall ever being told not to wear perfume or deodorant. Hope it went as well as it could and the results are good. The dies are lovely, especially the Moroccan tile one and the spray adhesive sounds like a very good idea. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #19
