What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – #176

Hello Everyone,

First and foremost, I felt so much love from all the wonderful posts last week from: Maria, Joynana, Elaine, Lisa, Vickie, Julia, Bernice, Vonny K, Maggie, Deb, Dantiella, Mary Anne, Sandi, Kay, Anna, Tamika, Scrappymo and Kay (505Whimsygirl).

I was so nervous about entering my first contest and when I received all the wonderful warm comments, I felt like I already won.   Thanks for taking the time to look and write such thoughtful comments.

Craft haul from my weekend crop

I had so much fun at my weekend crop with my girlfriends. We spent from 9 in the morning until 9 at night laughing, snacking and working on fun craft stuff. It was at a store so of course I had to look and boy was that a mistake.  They carried three of my favorite brands there one,  which is MFT Die-Namics.  I just can’t get enough of their dies. They are so pretty.  So I bought a crown border, snowflakes, oval stax, jumbo fishtail banner stax, designer label stax and the cutiest icicle border dies.  Then I bought two new MFT stamps one of a little girl with snowballs and the other hugging a snow man.  I justified the insane total expense by saying they were tools that can be used over and over.  (Come on, that’s a good reason right?)

Cute storage I bought at Target.

Another thing I did while walking around the craft store was to get storage idea inspirations and one thing they did that I loved was have wire baskets all over the store with tons of cards in them for you to peruse.  Well I ran out and bought two wire baskets in the dollar section in Target and stuck some of my fall cards in them. In the back are pencils I bought in preparation for my boys’  Halloween exchanges in school. I am going to make something crafty to store the pencils for each child. I will post pictures when I create them.

A wider shot of my desk.

You can see some of my Christmas notecards I have finished and ready to go into my shop and some other images I finished coloring that are ready for use on some cards.  Oh and I made that little box when I was at the crop.  (see I did something) Mr. Huey’s color mist schoolhouse sitting there waiting for me to use it.

Well I am ready for some snooping and that’s just what I’m gonna do!

If you haven’t learned about this amazing creative journey you can take every Wednesday, then head on over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and you will find desks from all around the world for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Have a blessed day!

Belinda

  2. Hi Belinda, I don’t have a post for this week, but I wanted to stop by and say hello. Your shopping spree is fabulous. I saw a couple of those dies that I would love to have. And just as soon as my life settles back down, I am going to do some shopping. Do you think that you would be interested in doing a swap of some kind?

    • Hi Joynana! I will miss your desk. It’s a regular stop of inspiration for me. But I get it when life takes over.

I would very much like to do some sort of swap. Email me and we can coordinate something.

  3. Hi Belinda,

I LOVE getting a jump on visiting desks on Tuesday nights! How fun to have a group of friends that enjoy doing the same crafty things as you. And to meet up in a shop — BONUS! You go girl! I love the idea of the wire baskets; didn’t realize Target has a $1 section (haven’t been in a Target in years). I’m going to an Arts and Crafts Fair this weekend so I’m hoping to get some display ideas.

    Happy WOYWW

  5. Of course you are totally right – that’s not spending money – that’s investing in crucial stash !! Useful for years to come ! Glad you had fun at your crop & enjoy using all your lovely new things ! Ali #48

  6. I trey to look at my scrappy/paper crafty spending that way too.
Somethings are like hardscapes in a garden…They are basics, they are reusable and earn their value back over and over with each use. Dies and stamps fall into this category.
I would far rather have a ton of dies, punches and stamp and make my own embellishments with them .
If you look at it that way, you are spending money to save money!!! teeheehee

  7. Oooh lovely busy desk there and the all day crop sounded fun! You are right tools are definately an investment and not a treat! thats what I tell myself anyway! Thanks for sharing – Sunshine Girl no. 57

  8. Great looking desk with lots of awesome things to look at again! I love Die-namics dies and MFT stamps but don’t own a great lot of either due to all the other stuff I have. I love punches, dies, and stamps and make a lot of my own card candy rather then buying it for an inflated price so I would say that your purchase was def justified! Have a great week. Vickie #71

  9. Hi there- fab time you had! I went to a craft store last weekend to meet another WOYWWer, and yes I spent loads too! Have a great Wednesday, Hugs Shaz #96 xx
